A lyric soprano, Anastasia Klevan was born in the Ukraine and was raised in Israel, where she received her first musical and vocal education.
After finishing voice studies at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel-Aviv, Anastasia Klevan was invited to join the Young Artists Program of the Israel Opera, began to appear on stage and became a soloist of the opera house.
She performed on the operatic stage such roles as Marzelline in Fidelio by Beethoven, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro and Aminta in Il Re Pastore by Mozart, Sidonie in Gluck’s Armide, Voce dal Cielo in Verdi’s Don Carlo, Suor Genovieffa in Suor Angelica by Puccini, Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore (in the Hebrew version), Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos by Strauss and many other roles.
Additional engagements of Anastasia Klevan include concerts, recitals and regular appearances on television as a musical performer. She performed with most of Israel’s symphony and chamber orchestras, sang at the Jerusalem International Chamber Music Festival and took part in the Israel Opera Tour to Berlin, where she sang Giannetta in L’Elisir d’Amore in the Deutsche Oper.
Ms. Klevan took part in the annual International Vocal Arts Institute (IVAI) where she studied, participated in concerts, performed the role of Infantin in Zemlinsky’s Der Zwerg and became a recipient of special scholarships and awards such as the Silvermann Award in 2009 and the Harbour Award 2009/2010.
Her other prizes include the Grabov Award for the most promising young singer, the Besser Award, as well as winning several America- Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships.
